City of Ottawa - Shows NOT to Miss at Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe

Get ready for a vibrant mix of music, theatre, comedy, and community as Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe launches the first half of its 2025/26 season. Music legends such as Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello take the stage and our popular afternoon series, Matinée Café, is back showcasing local talent.

“The first half of the 2025/26 season contains beautiful tales and voices that our audience knows have stood the test of time,” says Allan Sansom, Artistic Producer and Manager of Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe. “We have important historic stories told through the eyes of the Métis people, local theatre greats and music legends. It’s an exciting start to the season!”

Music icons will be taking to the stage as Gordon Lightfoot’s original bandmates keep his legacy alive with The Lightfoot Band, authentically performing all his classic songs on Wednesday, September 24.

Ottawa’s own legend Victor Nesrallah brings his unique mix of roots, world and folk blues to life on Friday, October 17 as he plays songs from his critically acclaimed Middle Eastern infused album Blood From The Stone.

On Wednesday, October 29, witness Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello perform solo and acoustic, as he brings a Night of Stories & Music to our stage. This is your chance to see this Rock & Roll Hall of Famer up close! An experience not to be missed.

On Tuesday, December 9, it’s time to get into the festive spirit as The Ennis Sisters return to Ottawa with a show full of holiday cheer.

For the afternoon crowd, our popular Matinée Café series is back for another season. The Rideau Ramblers, Maple Leaf Horn Quartet featuring members of the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, Durham County Poets and Have yourself a Jazzy Little Christmas from John Dapaah Trio featuring Michael Curtis

Hanna and Roxanne Goodman, will all take place in the Les Lye studio throughout the year. These special shows include an hour of music, followed by coffee and treats. Perfect for an afternoon escape!

*Amazing Family Show* On Saturday, October 18, catch Axis Theatre’s powerful, educational must-see for families - Where have all the Buffalo Gone, a play by Tai Amy Grauman explores the history of the Métis people from the 1930s to 2024. The Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia brings to life Billy Goats Gruff and Other Tales on Saturday November 15, using their beautiful puppetry magic to delight the young and young-at-heart.

For those looking to laugh in the aisles, pick up your tickets for CBC’s The Debaters 20th season tour as it rolls into Ottawa on Tuesday, October 21 and Wednesday, October 22. For this special anniversary watch out for limited VIP tickets for a post-show reception with Steve Patterson, for the ultimate fan experience.

*Amazing Family Show* To round out the first half of the 2025/26 season, local star performer Pierre Brault, is back with his incredible, hit one-man show, A Christmas Carol: Solo. This thrilling, unique take on Dickens’ classic tale will take place on Thursday, Dec 18, Friday December 19, and Sunday December 21.

From rock icons to timeless tales, Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe is the place to be this season.
